Universal Studios, Antojitos Authentic Mexican, Blue Man Group
We had a lay in today well I say lay in I think I woke up around 8am, we didn’t get to bed till nearly 2am. We had to try and get hold of Alamo this morning to let them know about the car so we didn’t get out early to the parks today. After an inspection of the car in daylight (the knock didn’t appear to be as bad as we thought) and a phone call to Alamo, we finally made it to Universal Studios at around 11am.
We did Shrek 4D and Despicable Me – Minion Mayhem which was worth the 40 minute wait. If you didn’t want to queue for the ride but wanted to see the Minion characters if you go through the gift shop you can see them and have your photo with them. We headed to Simpsons land, Sam is a fan of Simpsons so we had to visit Krusty Burger for lunch we shared one burger and fries as the portions are really starting to beat us and a portion each at lunch is just too much so now we are sharing one meal at lunchtime how romantic :-). Lunch was $14.04. The queuing system is good in here everyone has to get in one queue and they only allow a certain amount of people through to the food counters at once which stops of the pushing and chaos.
We then headed to Men In Black I didn’t win on this ride so there will not be a picture of the scores :-(, when we came out of here it had started to rain again so we ran for the Revenge Of The Mummy ride as we knew this was inside by the time we reached The Mummy the rain was heavy we put all our stuff in one of the fingerprint lockers and literally walked straight onto this ride. Once we got off the ride and came outside it was still raining heavy so we decided to go again, the staff are very in character and managed to make me jump and scream both times I went on the ride. When we came outside second time round and the rain had gone and the sun was out woohoo. We then headed for rip ride rocket as the wait times on the Universal App (this is also a must download before you go) said 20 minutes, we put everything in lockers and went onto the ride we reached the top and there was not a single person in line waiting. What a ride this was I really did scream we came off and decided to go again and again walked straight on the ride with no queue maybe all the rain put people off staying. We decided to buy the video of us on ride the first time as it was so funny it was $37 for the disc with the video on a little bit on the expensive side but we couldn’t stop laughing at my face.
After this we headed for the exit and the Blue Man Group box office to collect our tickets for the evening performance and went back to hotel for to get ready for the evening. After a quick rest we were back off to Universal for the Blue Man Group show. We went to Antijitos Authentic Mexican for dinner in City Walk. We really enjoyed this and felt it had a real Mexican vibe even down to the Mexican band playing and the decoration inside, we both had fajitas which were very tasty. I did enjoy the chips and salsa they give you after you have ordered your food. This dinner came to $51.75 inc tip.
After dinner we headed for the Blue Man Group. I coke a coke and large Churro here which came to $7.44. What a show this is, it is strange but it was a fantastic show and keeps you interested and intrigued as to what is going to happen next. After the show we headed home for an early start at Universal Studios and Island of Adventure tomorrow.
