I woke up with a stuffy red nose and a head feeling like it was going to explode so back to Walgreens I went to try and get some cold and flu or something that would clear the congestion and let me breathe a little better. We then jumped on the bus at the bus stop by the Wynn to the Premium Outlets and had a spend up, mine being on two Kate Spade bags woops. Shopping was good at the outlet lots of deals could be found and if I knew what the shopping was going to be like at our next 2 stops in the US, I would have probably spent more money here.
After a few hours we then took the bus back to the strip and took our shopping back to room. We went back out for some lunch in the Venetian, we didn’t really fancy a sit down meal so headed for the food court and ate at social pizza ($16.73).
We then walked to the Wynn and jumped in a cab from there to the Little White Wedding Chapel down by the Stratosphere. Now before you jump to conclusions, no we didn’t get married. However if you remember at the beginning of this blog, I mentioned we met some people on the plane who were heading out to Vegas for a wedding. Well over the first couple of nights we had a few drinks with them and they invited us along to the wedding. So we thought why not, while in Vegas and all that, let’s experience a Vegas wedding in the Little White Wedding Chapel. When we arrived at the Chapel it all seemed so surreal, the drive through weddings, the tunnel of love and Elvis walking towards us. We then met with the wedding party and headed inside the little chapel. Elvis sang while the bride walked down the aisle and after the ceremony Elvis sang again while we made a tunnel with our arms for the bride and groom to walk through. We then went outside to the garden area where we took photos for the wedding party. We all then jumped in two hummer limos to the Las Vegas sign and had pictures at the famous sign. After the wedding and photos we went to Venetian for drinks at Very Venice bar in St Marks Square, we couldn’t stay for drinks long but we agreed to meet up with the wedding party later on in the evening. On the way back to the room we grabbed some fries from Lobster Me ($3.00), these were amazing.
Tonight we were heading out to Frozen Fury, LA Kings v Colorado Avalanche which again we had booked our tickets at home through Ticketmaster ($53 each). We took a cab to the MGM Garden Arena and watched the NHL, we learnt a few chants “Go Kings Go”. This was our first experience of an American sporting event and what a great one it was. The LA Kings also won the ice hockey which created a great atmosphere between the crowds.
After the NHL we were hungry so we decided to give Gordon Ramsay Burgr another try. When we reached Planet Hollywood we were surprised there was no queue, but it was nearly 10.30pm so that could be why. We had a Farm burger and American burger with 2 soft drinks which came to $40 ($10 tip). We also sat at the chefs table which basically meant you sat side by side looking onto the kitchen, it was great watching all the orders come in and burgers fly out of the kitchen. After some much needed food we went to New York New York to meet the wedding party and enjoy a few drinks in the bars. New York New York was really lively with lots of people partying away.
Around 1am we called it a night as we still had to pack to leave in the morning, we walked all the way back to the Mirage talking about all our memories we had made on this trip to Vegas. Back at the room we packed our luggage up ready to leave at 8am and head for our flight to San Francisco.
Our 4 nights in Vegas were crazy, we met some great people, we went to a Vegas wedding, we drank and danced loads and slept very little. We are already planning when we will be going back to Vegas again.
