Brief:
I had no brief for this christening cake, the design was completely down to me. The only requirement I had was the flavours of the sponges.
The Cake:
The bottom tier of the cake was lemon with a lemon butter cream frosting. The top tier of the cake was chocolate with a rich chocolate butter cream frosting. The whole cake was covered in Renshaw fondant icing in white and baby pink then finished with a baby pink 1cm ribbon around both tiers and the cake board.
The Design:
I wanted the cake to be as girlie as possible so I used a lot of soft pink hearts and butterflies made with fondant plunge cutters. The letter blocks filled the middle of the cake and again these were made from fondant. I topped the cake with a fondant baby bunny along with some baby shoes with mini hearts made with Renshaw Sugarpaste.
